(Summarised Position Description only) Location: Long Island Point Job purpose - To carry out all operation duties associated with the safe, efficient and environmentally sound operation of a plant area. These duties include responding to emergency conditions, preparation of equipment for maintenance, housekeeping and proactive monitoring of the area and its equipment.
Key responsibilities - Oversee and control the process (initially with experienced Operations Technicians) to ensure the plant operates safely and efficiently and environmental impacts are minimised
- Maintain all equipment in assigned area in sound operating condition and perform basic care checks and report any equipment that requires maintenance attention, Generate maintenance service requests on IPES system, including initial priority determination.
- Prepare equipment for maintenance and project work and recommission when complete. Complete isolations in accordance with Work Management Manual requirements.
- Monitor ongoing work by others in the area to ensure permit conditions and safe work practices are employed.
- Keep abreast of area modifications and changes in procedures and routines.
- Carry out shift handover in a detailed and comprehensive manner.
- Co-ordinate the timely authorisation of work permits within the assigned area. Prepare permits for others to authorise.
- Take product samples as required and deliver these to the Laboratory to achieve production targets and time frames.
- Check all safety equipment in the area and report any deficiencies.
- Perform duties required to achieve stable and reliable operations within environmental and quality requirements including minor maintenance.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the operating area to ensure safe working conditions.
- Perform all operational duties to maintain the safe operation of equipment in the area including startup and shutdown when required.
