Mobil Launches Ethanol-Blend Petrol in Sydney

13 September 2007

Sydney:  Mobil today announced that new Mobil E10 Unleaded ethanol-blend petrol was now available to Sydney motorists.  Mobil Bankstown service station on the corner of Stacey and Stanley Streets is the first Mobil-branded site in NSW to be converted for sale of ethanol-blend petrol in response to the NSW Government's mandate, which is due to come into effect next month.

Mobil Oil Australia Pty Ltd Retail Fuels Manager, Paul Rea, said "Mobil acknowledges the Government's strong interest in the use of ethanol as part of the State's fuel mix and we are working hard to put all necessary measures in place to enable us to meet the requirements for supply of ethanol-blend petrol as soon as practicable."

Mobil E10 Unleaded is expected to be available at over 25 service stations in and around Sydney by the end of the year, and will be progressively rolled out to many more in the early part of 2008.  Details of the stations selling Mobil E10 Unleaded will be updated regularly on Mobil's website - www.mobil.com.au.

Mobil E10 Unleaded contains up to 10% ethanol blended with regular unleaded petrol and complies fully with Australian fuel quality standards.  The octane of Mobil E10 Unleaded is typically above 93 RON whereas regular unleaded petrol is 91 to 92 RON.

Mobil E10 Unleaded will be priced competitively with other ethanol-blend petrol available in the market.
