Dementia
Dementia is the third largest cause of death in Australia. By 2050 it is projected there will be 1 million Australians with dementia and Victoria alone will have 98,000 sufferers - a 50 percent increase on today’s numbers.
These are alarming statistics by anyone’s measure. ExxonMobil has joined with Alzheimer's Australia Vic in a community campaign promoting awareness about dementia in Victoria. The campaign uses the familiar images of a teacup and a toothbrush to illustrate how daily tasks can be difficult for a person with dementia and encourages people to call the Helpline to seek help or simply talk to someone.
The campaign concept was developed by Alzheimer's Auckland, and funded in New Zealand by Mobil Oil New Zealand.

Road safety
ExxonMobil has partnered with Monash University Accident Research Centre to help prevent road accidents among young P Plate drivers. The 'Going Solo' project aims to provide parents with information and strategies to help reduce P Plate driver crash risks. P Plate drivers are 33 times more likely to have a crash than learner drivers and research shows a link between parenting style and young driver crash risk.
