At the ExxonMobil Business Support Centre ULC (EMBSCC), we are looking for both graduates and students who will thrive in a dynamic and expanding organization within one of the world's largest multinational corporations. Various positions are available mainly in Calgary, Toronto and Moncton. Qualified candidates other than new campus graduates and students may also be considered for our operations in New Brunswick.

Graduate Employment

Typically, we post a number of graduate positions every September and conduct additional recruitment throughout the year as needed. We welcome applications from new and recent graduates with less than three years of relevant work experience.

New graduates will possess:
  • Technical vision
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking abilities
  • A results-oriented approach to work
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Creativity and innovation
  • The flexibility for geographic mobility
If you are about to graduate with a degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering, you will quickly apply and increase your business and technical knowledge at the ExxonMobil Business Support Centre Canada. It’s our commitment to mentoring and coaching that makes this possible. From day one, you can expect to apply your knowledge and experience in either scientific or business applications for the development and support of your internal clients.

New graduates will benefit from:
  • Working with hardware, servers, networks, operating systems and other enablers
  • Carrying out systems administration
  • Functioning as a full-service internal consultant with the knowledge and skills necessary to carry a project through its entire life cycle
  • Having the opportunity to use their business and technical knowledge as well as their interpersonal communication skills as part of a formidable team
  • Working in partnership with business clients to identify requirements and alternative technologies that would most efficiently meet those requirements
  • Designing, developing, testing and implementing solutions
The fact that ExxonMobil is a global leader with technically demanding challenges gives you an idea of how large the technology toolkit needs to be. And these needs continue to grow. So, technical computing competence is developed and maintained through on-going, "just-in-time" technical training. This training is not an option. It is expected. The expectation holds true whether you are working in applications, infrastructure or systems administration. Join ExxonMobil where we’ll give you the tools to tackle challenges head-on and find solutions to today’s toughest energy challenges.

Co-op, Summer and Internship Work Terms

Every year throughout the country, we hire students into co-op, summer and internship work terms that range from 4 to 16 months in Management Information Systems, Computer Science and Engineering. With our student work program, we are striving to achieve two primary goals:
  • to provide students with a valuable, productive and rewarding work experience through exposure to the people, projects and processes of ExxonMobil operations worldwide in a way that will build on their current skills and previous work experiences; and
  • to provide students and the ExxonMobil Business Support Centre with an opportunity to mutually evaluate each other in terms of potential fit relative to graduate employment.
Student opportunities are posted in September, January, and May. Check your campus career centre for available positions and deadlines.

Students will possess:
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to maintain effectiveness in a changing, multi-tasking environment
  • A high degree of self-motivation
  • Strong interpersonal, listening and verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to deal with a wide variety of people
Students will benefit from:
  • The ability to develop skills and progress their career
  • Working with highly qualified staff
  • Strong mentorship and guidance, both on the job and through a formal networking program

  • Opportunities for both specialist and management careers
  • Working directly with the client business unit to deliver desktop infrastructure to achieve critical business goals
  • Working in a high quality, collaborative learning environment with team members in several cities in North America and extended team members across the globe
