AMBASSADOR DAVID MILLER: Economic growth is the best way to solve human rights problems. There are always bumps along the road, and critics can point to those bumps. I believe history has

shown us that a consistently rising real income, children going to school in school uniforms, children having books in their schools when they get there, people having houses with roofs, people having paved roads, eventually alleviates the human rights problems. People learn that economic growth is better than violence.
