Many new high-potential opportunities are located in deepwater areas (i.e. in excess of 1,350 feet of water). ExxonMobil has established an industry-leading position in this arena, with participation in over 30 significant deepwater discoveries. ExxonMobil currently has interests and commitments in nearly 750 deepwater blocks totaling over 120 million gross acres. In the high-potential deepwater areas of West Africa, ExxonMobil is the largest multinational deepwater acreage holder with participation in 16 discoveries that represent world-class development opportunities. This leading deepwater position will contribute significantly to production growth in the future.
