Arts and culture

The Arts play an important role around the world in enriching, inspiring and educating audiences with diverse backgrounds.  In 2008, worldwide contributions supporting arts and cultural programs totaled more than $8.0 million, of which more than $6.6 million benefited communities in the United States.

Our U.S. Cultural Matching Gift Program encourages and assists employees and retirees in their personal giving to cultural institutions by providing a matching contribution.  In 2008, employees and retirees donated more than $2.8 million to cultural and arts organizations, and ExxonMobil Foundation contributed $1.9 million through matching gifts.
