Roll Back Malaria

children in Africa

Roll Back Malaria reports that significant gains are being made in the fight against malaria. Unprecedended levels of bed nets are being distributed and new drugs are being developed. Global attention — from American Idol to the G-8 — has focused new energy on strategies to eradicate the disease.

Calling on viewers to learn more about malaria from Roll Back Malaria, ExxonMobil has launched a major new malaria awareness program to be broadcast during August. The malaria prevention spot will be broadcast during the 2008 Beijing Olympics in the United States, and to a global audience on August 2 and 3 in conjunction with a BBC World documentary, Zambezi! ExxonMobil is a lead sponsor of the documentary, which includes ExxonMobil's Dr. Steven Phillips and others traveling down the Zambezi River through six African countries to bring attention to malaria and the efforts needed to fight the disease.
