investment in Europe

ExxonMobil participates in a number of major investment projects in Europe, designed both to increase local supplies from the North Sea and to facilitate rising imports from elsewhere.

They include:

• the 8 billion Euro Ormen Lange project, which will transport natural gas through the world’s longest undersea pipeline: from Nyhamna on the west coast of Norway to Easington in the UK, over a distance of 1200 kilometres
• the 2.4 billion euro Statfjord late life project, which is expected to extend the field’s productive life by a further 15 years
• the construction of major new Liquefied Natural Gas terminals in Italy and the UK
