Primary Assignment
You
will provide assessments on a broad range of business and financial issues.
Initial assignments may be in financial planning and analysis, benefit plans
and investment, corporate/affiliate finance, or insurance. Transfers between
these types of positions within the first 2 - 4 years are normal and designed
to expose you to a broad range of Treasurer's Department activities. Future
assignments with other departments may occur as part of your career
development for senior financial and general management positions.
Examples of Specific Job Responsibilities -
Monitoring the global capital markets to identify, analyze and implement
low-cost financing opportunities, including special purpose equity and/or debt
issues.

Analyzing ExxonMobil's cost of capital and developing financial strategies
related to dividend policy, leverage, non-recourse financing and debt
equivalents.

Advising operating departments on indemnity and insurance provisions in
contracts to ensure an equitable allocation of risk between the company and
its suppliers, contractors and associates.

Coordinating the development, implementation, and administration of corporate
insurance and risk management programs.

Interfacing directly with your Treasurer’s colleagues in affiliates around the
world, evaluating financing options for wholly owned affiliates and complex
joint ventures in many locations, including frontier areas such as the Caspian
region, Russia, China, and West Africa.

Determining the optimal mix of stocks, bonds, venture capital and other assets
for the numerous pension funds worldwide.

Developing strategy and policy for cash management, including banking,
commercial paper operations, and foreign exchange transactions.

Participating in multi-departmental project teams formed to address specific
business issues including, but not limited to, project economics, asset
acquisitions and divestments.

financial analysts in its Treasurer's Department. Individuals are selected on
the basis of their ability to progress toward executive positions, either in
financial or general management, with Exxon Mobil Corporation and its Business
Services groups or non-U.S. operating organizations.
Qualifications Desired - Academic
At least a Master’s
degree, with course works in subjects such as economics, corporate finance,
capital markets, international finance, and business administration.
