The Job

The Product Steward assists Geoscientists and Engineers by providing support for Tier 2 technical applications and secondary support of Tier 1 applications.

Activities and Responsibilities include:

User Support for Tier 2 technical applications

• Troubleshoot and coordinate the resolution of application problems/bugs and enhancements
  • Monitor problem management queues, delegate and pick up appropriate request tickets.
  • Coordinate problem resolution with appropriate internal resource or vendor.
  • Participate in incident management processes such as incident assessment and facilitation.
  • Create and update application solution support documentation and post a central repository.
• Application delivery
  • Create application test plans and perform and coordinate application testing with business or IT experts.
  • Create or update documents such as application release notes and distribute to end users

Secondary support for Tier 1 or Tier 2 technical applications

• Training Material Development
  • Create and update application training documentation.
  • Create application CBT (computer-based training) modules.
• Misc.
  • Test change processes for all application license upgrades
  • Update central repository of application specific documentation

The Person

• Degree in IT or Engineering related curriculum, or equivalent work experience
• Communicate clearly and concisely
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Ability to correctly prioritize activities and manage time
• Work effectively with distributed teams 2-5 years experience in providing Technical Support and/or Operations in multiple platform of Unix (IBM AIX, HPUX and SUN Solaris).

Technical Skills:

• Familiarity with technical applications used in the Upstream Oil and Gas industry, subsurface data sources and data flows (highly desired; not required)
• Basic knowledge of application deployment and delivery process
• Basic knowledge of application lifecycle management processes
• Competent in application testing and quality assurance requirements, methodologies, processes and practices
• Competent in Problem Management Processes and Change Management Processes
