The Job

• Assess and understand ExxonMobil data storage needs, select the appropriate storage-related products and design the appropriate storage-related processes to meet those needs, and certify those solutions for deployment.
• Perform storage technology surveillance including staying abreast of industry developments and actively participating in discussions with storage vendors.
• Develop procedures for supporting storage processes and in-house products.
• Participate in storage management infrastructure certification activities.
• Develop detailed deployment and operational documentation for these products and processes.
• Develop and steward risk assessments for these products and processes.
• Provide advanced technical troubleshooting support for both the SAN and Backup Operations groups
• Provide technical mentorship and assistance for new hires within Enterprise Storage
• Assess problematic SAN and Backup issues and develop technical solutions to enhance performance in order to meet service level objectives

• Possess a recognized University Bachelor Degree with Honors in Computer Science, Information Technology or related fields with outstanding academic credentials (CGPA 3.0 min preferred).
• Minimum 3 years experience in managing enterprise storage devices.
• Good understanding of SAN and Disk to Disk (D2D) concepts.
• Experienced in operating and supporting backup tools such as NetBackup, Bocada, Symmetrix, Clariion and others.
• Professional Associate Level Certification received for NetBackup, Symmetrix and/or Clarion will be an advantage.
• Experienced in Systems Administration activities for Windows, Linux and/or UNIX.
• Possess strong documentation and change management skills.
• Good familiarity and appreciation on systems standard compliance & controls processes with experience in developing standards & controls documentation.
• Possess strong analytical skills, initiative, and innovative qualities.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work with people from various organizations, levels and backgrounds i.e. locally, regionally and globally.
• Possess a good command of the English language (written and spoken) and good presentation skills.
