Bearing Protection
Integral to gearbox operations are the bearings that support the gears in their operation. Recent industry gear oil specifications recognize the fact that many gearbox failures are the result of bearing failures and have added the FAG FE8 roller bearing wear test as a requirement. Mobilgear 600 XP produces only 2mg of wear in this bearing test; this is 15 times less bearing wear than industry specification limits.

Debris Denting
Bearing service life can be affected by micropitting wear from gears. Microscopic wear particles can become impacted on bearing races and lead to increased bearing wear. Mobilgear 600 XP helps control micropitting on gears, helping to reduce the amount of generated wear debris and keeping harmful particles from shortening bearing service life.

Seal Protection
Seals can often be the first component to fail in a gearbox, as they are affected by the lubricant, debris, contaminants and temperature. Poor lubricant compatibility with seals can cause premature failure, oil leakage and contamination ingress – necessitating seal replacement, which causes costly downtime. Mobilgear 600 XP was specially formulated to maximize compatibility with a range of seal materials.
