Sport and Culture

ExxonMobil supports small and large projects within sports and culture – both in the local environment and nationwide. The philosophy is not only to support the elite and top performers, but also the amateurs. Here are some of the activities we have supported :

Moldejazz

ExxonMobil is for the 24th consecutive year one of the main sponsors for the Molde International Jazz Festival. In 2006 the company decided to support the children’s activities in connection with Moldejazz through the Lyriaka project. Lyriaka collected lyrics and poems from children and youngsters - primarily from Møre and Romsdal county - and the composer of the group sat music to the texts. These were presented at the town hall square during Moldejazz and were also issued on a CD.

Title sponsor of Bislett and Stavanger Games

In 2007, it is the 20th time ExxonMobil is the title sponsor for Bislett Games. This international track and field meeting, which is a part of the Golden League concept, is putting Norway on the international track and field map and has also stimulated the Norwegian interest in athletics.

In addition, ExxonMobil will this year be the title sponsor of Stavanger Games organized by Skjalg Athletic Club. 13 elite events will be arranged, and the Norwegian track and field elite will compete with international athletes in all the events.

Main sponsor of the atletics in Sandnes and Skjalg Athletic Clubs

To support the recruiting of athletes, the company has during several years been the main sponsor for both Skjalg Track and Field Club in Stavanger, and Sandnes Athletic Club. The main focus is on work with young, promising athletes as well as recruitment.
