Esso Norge AS celebrated in January, together with NorSea AS, 15 years without any lost time incidents at the NorSea base in Dusavik. (1.03.2004)
Esso Norge and NorSea started their cooperation in 1989 when Dusavik became the main supply base for Esso Norge, first for the exploration drilling operations and then for Esso Norge’s development and operation of the fields Balder, Jotun and Ringhorne, where Esso Norge is the operator.
Safety has since the startup in 1989 been given the highest priority, and close cooperation between Esso Norge and NorSea at all levels through these 15 years has contributed to set standards for safe work practices at the base. In addition, more than 70 persons from different contractors have got safety training through their work in Esso Norge’s organization at the base.
Even if the safety challenges at the supply base have been big with lifting operations, loading and unloading of heavy equipment from boat, transportation at the quay area, etc., the employees at the base have all the time kept focus on safety.
Structured safety training and frequent safety campaigns from Esso Norge and NorSea have together with good personal safety equipment contributed to this good result.
