As a new engineer you will start in the Project Development Group, Process Technology or Equipment Technology groups where you will either work on $Multimillion capital investments or support Technology Leadership programs across our European & Middle East manufacturing sites. Our Engineering Office staff work together in teams , in close conjunction with affiliate Refinery staff, and staff in the ExxonMobil Research & Engineering Central Engineering Office in Fairfax, USA to deliver high value engineering products that yield a high business return to our operations. International travel within Europe and to a lesser extent the Middle East is a frequent element of our work Typical Career Path Graduates will typically experience a range of project development, Process and Equipment Technology and Safety engineering roles in their first few years. This builds a breadth and depth of experience in: • Process design • Safety Engineering Plant Performance modelling and troubleshooting • Mechanical ,materials & reliability engineering
Ultimately, this enables Engineers to decide on a discipline speciality career path. After initial assignments, career development assignments to Affiliate Refineries, other global Regional Engineering Offices or to the Central Engineering office in the USA are expected for engineers to develop the broad range of Technical ,Personal Effectiveness and Leadership skills required to ultimately achieve global senior technical leadership positions . Training ExxonMobil places a high emphasis on engineering skills. Therefore technical knowledge and the ability to apply it are essential. Specific training courses held at locations around Europe, in both technical and commercial areas, coupled with exposure to the fast-paced, hands-on environment, provide an excellent platform on which to develop a successful career. Our long-established training programme is IChemE and IMechE accredited, and ExxonMobil is committed to helping you achieve chartered status within your first four years in the job.
