Information Technology is a global organisation which implements and supports the complete range of IT systems used by the ExxonMobil businesses worldwide. We work closely with our Upstream, Downstream, Corporate and Chemicals business partners to provide systems ranging from those used to explore for oil and gas through to those used to process sales at our 35,000 service stations worldwide. Typical career path
In order to build your technical, project management and leadership skills, you will move through a variety of jobs during your first few years. This is aimed at assisting your development and provides new challenges and experiences. Each individual will follow a unique career path and the majority of IT professionals will experience supervisory responsibilities or involvement in a project team within their first five years. You don't need to be a technical expert as we will provide all the necessary training, but an appreciation of how to balance business needs with appropriate and cost effective IT solutions is critical. After a few years, both you and we will make a judgement as to whether your long-term career should follow a technical or managerial path, and whether it should include assignments in other locations or business functions.
Training
We seek graduates from any degree discipline who are comfortable with technology and are interested in the Energy business. An international outlook, strong business acumen, a flair for leading people and the ability to manage projects to achieve business goals are all important qualities.
