Typical career path In order to build your technical, project management and leadership skills, you will move through a variety of jobs during your first few years. This is aimed at assisting your development and provides new challenges and experiences. Each individual will follow a unique career path and the majority of IT professionals will experience supervisory responsibilities or involvement in a project team within their first five years. You don't need to be a technical expert as we will provide all the necessary training, but an appreciation of how to balance business needs with appropriate and cost effective IT solutions is critical. After a few years, both you and we will make a judgement as to whether your long-term career should follow a technical or managerial path, and whether it should include assignments in other locations or business functions.
