Fawley (10 March 2008) -- St Anne’s Luncheon Club at Butts Ash Community Association in Hythe, Southampton, has recently purchased an industrial-size dishwasher following a donation of £2,000 from Esso and ExxonMobil Chemical at Fawley Refinery.

The club began in October 1999 when Mrs Shirley Stevens, a volunteer, received £2,000 from the Millennium Fund to start a Luncheon Club for the elderly. There were originally eight members; now as many as 30 attend.

Mrs Stevens said: “The industrial dishwasher is great: it only takes three minutes at a time. We soon get through all the dishes. We would like to thank ExxonMobil at Fawley for their kind donation to St Anne’s Luncheon Club.”
