Fawley (March 13, 2006) -- The Hythe branch of the New Forest Disability
Information Service is now better equipped to meet the growing demands of
those it serves after a donation of £1,000 from Esso and ExxonMobil Chemical
at Fawley. This non-profit organisation, that provides disability related
information and advice to all age groups, was finding it difficult to cope
with the rising costs associated with the increase in demand for the service
it provides.
Their telephone and photocopying needs have
grown in line with the workload, and ExxonMobil was able to come to the
rescue, and buy the new phone package and photocopier that the service
desperately required.
Whilst the service is only able to
operate from its Hythe office on Wednesdays, it serves the community during
the rest of the week on a home visit basis. Rose Adams, a development officer
for the service, said: "We're really grateful for the money as it has enabled
us to continue what is a very valuable service here. We'll now be able to
carry on taking care of the growing number of clients thanks to ExxonMobil."
Anna Holden-Booth of ExxonMobil said: "The Disability Outreach provides a much
needed service to the local community. I'm glad that we were able to help
financially with the growing demands that the organisation faces."
