Aberdeen (March 17, 2006) -- Children and teachers at the Anna Ritchie School
in Peterhead received a boost to their plans to develop the school’s
playground area thanks to a £1,000 donation from ExxonMobil’s SAGE terminal at
St Fergus.
Head teacher, Ishbel Cruickshank, said: “This
donation could not have come at a better time. We have been working on plans
to improve the playground facility for nursery and older children – all we
needed was some funding! So we were delighted to hear that the Anna Ritchie
School had been nominated by the safety committee to receive a donation.”
ExxonMobil’s SAGE plant manager, Gerry Begbie, added: “The safety award scheme
encourages employees to apply safe working practices to every aspect of the
business. As a result of excellent safety performance at SAGE throughout 2005
we have been able to make several contributions to the local community. The
Anna Ritchie School was nominated by our safety committee and I am delighted
that the timely donation will make a contribution to the school’s playground
plans.”
