Torrance is a coastal city located halfway between Los Angeles and Orange Counties with a current population of approximately 133,000. Incorporated in 1921, Torrance is now the 4th largest city in Los Angeles County and the 12th largest in California.
The pleasant year-round climate with warm temperatures, sea breezes and low humidity make Torrance a recreational paradise. The city has 1.5 miles of excellent beach facilities for swimming, surfing and volleyball. Torrance also has 300 acres of parkland, as well as golfing, swimming pool and tennis facilities.
Torrance is the site of the annual Daily Breeze International Surf Festival which attracts thousands each summer. Torrance also hosts the nation's largest and longest-running Armed Forces Day Observance each May, the annual ExxonMobil 10K Run each spring and the Torrance Beach Cities Team Triathlon each September.
