Primary Assignment
As a
member of an application delivery team, you will provide support and
consulting to various ExxonMobil business units in applying information
technology solutions to business processes. You will develop skills in all
aspects of the systems life cycle such as opportunity analysis, system
analysis, design, construction, testing, implementation and support. Your
starting assignment could be in one of several different areas:
Marketing Point of Sale - retail service station and convenience operations
using Tandem technologies
Marketing Automotive Operations - price support system using client server
based technologies (SQL Server, Brio, Visual Basic)
Call Centre Operations - support ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art call centres
using client server based technologies (SQL Server, DB2, Visual Basic, NT).
Manufacturing, Plant Computing - support of core refining and supply systems
used for feedstock selection, unit optimization, equipment reliability and
environmental analysis in manufacturing plants, using client server based
technologies (SQL Server, Powerbuilder, Visual Basic, NT)
Global Access Administration - development and implementation of procedures
and computer systems, using client server and web based technologies, to
support the new access administration centres that will service ExxonMobil
globally
eCommerce Applications - develop and support eCommerce applications,
electronic document management systems, and internet/intranet applications
Data Warehouse / User Information Environment - support and enhancement of
client server and mainframe data warehouses containing corporate data from
ExxonMobil's SAP system
HR Systems - support and enhancement of several client server based HR
applications (SQL Server, Visual Basic, Ms Access)
Enterprise Business Systems - support and enhancement of various client server
based corporate applications (Visual Basic, Ms Access, SQL Server)
Examples of Specific Job Responsibilities
As a member of an application delivery team, you will:
trouble-shoot day-to-day problems with applications
use continuous improvement techniques to analyze performance and reduce defects
enhance existing applications
evaluate and install purchased software
work with the business to understand their requirements and negotiate scope
and terms of delivery
develop internal service level agreements with customers and internal suppliers
create data and process models as needed in analysis and design
interface with vendors to select and acquire new products or make changes and
resolve problems for existing products
assist in prioritizing and integrating changes through systems methodologies
and development procedures
identify future technology opportunities and their application to the business
travel to customer sites for support and implementation

Qualifications Desired
Academic Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Math,
Engineering, or Business with an interest in a career in Information
Technology.
