Primary Assignment
Throughout a comprehensive training and orientation program, you will work
with a mentor and other experienced professionals on a variety of different
Land projects, and visit other internal Land groups to familiarize yourself
with the goals and strategies of those groups. This will facilitate your
understanding of how each group’s role relates to the overall role that the
Land Skill Area performs within ExxonMobil. Upon completion of your training
program, you will be given a specific geographic area and the responsibility
for all Land issues in that area, as well as the opportunity to test your
abilities to multi-task, work with others, build and strengthen relationships
and make things happen.
Examples of
Specific Job Responsibilities
Negotiate, draft and secure oil and gas leases, surface easements, and
right-of-way agreements.
Review and analyze existing agreements and rules/regulations (environmental,
conservation, etc.) for possible impact on ExxonMobil’s oil and gas drilling
and producing operations.
Manage outside contractor activities relating to the acquisition of leases,
rights-of-way and claim settlements.
Build and maintain key internal and external relationships, and serve as
external point contact and negotiator for ExxonMobil.
Negotiate and finalize the settlement of landowner claims related to
ExxonMobil’s oil and gas drilling and producing operations.
Initiate, promote, negotiate, and finalize joint ventures with industry
partners.
Evaluate and recommend Land-related business opportunities for ExxonMobil to
pursue.
Support operations vital to the production of oil and gas.

Qualifications Desired
Academic
Bachelor’s degree (Energy Management or Petroleum Land Management preferred),
Law or MBA.
Other Have a basic knowledge of
the oil and gas industry and its relationship with the global marketplace.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills are required. Job
assignments are located in Houston.
