ExxonMobil's Controller's organization seeks outstanding candidates to develop
into the senior financial managers of the Corporation. The Controller's
organization is responsible for coordinating ExxonMobil's financial and
operating plans, evaluating progress toward key goals and managing internal
financial processes. This career path attracts candidates who have excellent
financial skills, sound communication / leadership skills, and a strong
interest in management.
Candidates are normally hired for
starting positions in their home country (country where you have pre-existing
long-term eligibility to work). The principal U.S. starting locations are
Houston, Baton Rouge, and Fairfax. Positions may also be available in other
countries where we do business.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
If assigned to
one of these positions, you will forecast, analyze, and report financial
results for ExxonMobil's global oil and gas or chemicals/refining operations.
You will learn about the business, gain insight into ExxonMobil's financial
processes, utilize your analytical and communications abilities, and fine-tune
management presentation skills. Special projects may include competitor
analysis or standardization of factor analysis techniques.
Business Analysis
In these positions, you will
forecast, analyze, and report operating expenses, capital budget expenditures
and profitability for one of ExxonMobil' s operational units. You will
participate in business decisions and get "hands-on" experience working at an
ExxonMobil manufacturing facility or as part of a business operations team.
Internal Audit
These positions require individuals
to work on teams evaluating financial and operating control procedures for
ExxonMobil's business processes and units, suppliers and venture partners.
Auditors will have the opportunity to travel throughout the United States
(overseas in some cases) to various ExxonMobil sites. In general, audit
assignments offer accelerated learning opportunities to develop a broad
understanding of the various aspects of ExxonMobil's global business.
For example, while auditing the Baton Rouge Refinery, an auditor may work
closely with plant personnel to evaluate product measurement procedures.
Auditors apply sample testing to determine whether product measurements meet
industry standards and comply with company guidelines. Upon completion of
fieldwork testing, the audit teams issues a final report to senior management
assessing operations compliance with internal policies and procedures and
recommending business process improvements.
