ExxonMobil aviation solutions help Akasa Air with growth

Akasa Air is using Mobil Jet™ Oil II and Mobil™ HyJet™ V on its rapidly expanding fleet of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft

About Akasa Air

A relative newcomer to the aviation space—the carrier launched its first commercial flight in August 2022 to support the growing demand across India—Akasa Air is India’s fastest growing airline. The carrier began by serving the domestic market, but as Akasa scales up its domestic operations and plans to begin serving international destinations, the airline needed a supplier they can rely on to keep up with their expanding operations.

Keeping up with growth

To keep up with their growth trajectory, Akasa Air partnered with Team Aviation, ExxonMobil’s sole authorized aviation lubricants distributor in India, for the supply of ExxonMobil Aviation lubricants. Specifically, Team Aviation is supplying Mobil Jet™ Oil II and Mobil™ HyJet™ V to the carrier. ExxonMobil’s suite of aviation lubricants has a long track record of reliably maintaining a range of aircraft engines, including the 737 MAX’s high-efficiency CFM LEAP-1 turbines in Akasa’s fleet. Similarly, ExxonMobil’s hydraulic fluids enjoy an industry-leading reputation in aircraft high-pressure systems.

A team effort

The collaboration between ExxonMobil, Team Aviation and Akasa Air make success possible.

“ExxonMobil lubricants have been helping customers get off the ground since the Wright Brothers first took to the skies in 1903, and we’re proud Akasa Air has selected Team Aviation as a partner in their bold mission of making air travel affordable for millions of first-time fliers in India,” said Vanessa Wei, Asia Pacific Sales Manager, ExxonMobil. “We’re grateful to Team Aviation for their leadership, the opportunity and are pleased that Mobil Jet Oil II and Mobil HyJet V have been selected to help Akasa Air efficiently carry out their operations.”

“Our partnership with Team Aviation is in line with our strategy to ensure operational efficiency while also bolstering our growth plans.”
