Corrosion on tankers

This article from the early 1950s looks at the serious problem of corrosion on tankers. It formed part of a series of articles by Socony-Vacuum Oil Company, which were published “to provide tankermen everywhere with information vital to their profits and loss.” 


New pressure tanker goes to sea

The Rasmus Tholstrup was one of the first tankers built specifically to carry liquefied petroleum gas. It carried 320 tons of this volatile product from big European refineries to bulk plants in Northern Europe for the firm A/S Kosangas, Copenhagen.
