Maritime operators receive next generation of Mobil Delvac™ diesel engine oils
Maritime operators will receive next generation formulations of popular Mobil Delvac™ diesel engine oils – Mobil Delvac™ 1300 Super and synthetic Mobil Delvac 1™ ESP 5W-40, from 1st December 2016.
In a wide range of tests, these enhanced Mobil Delvac oils outperformed their predecessor formulations in numerous areas, demonstrating:
- 80 percent improvement in high temperature viscosity control, which can help enhance protection for engines from severe operating temperatures and load conditions;*
- 50 percent improvement in oxidation resistance, helping to improve engine life by reducing deposit formation of sludge and varnish;* and,
- 20 percent improvement in wear protection, which can help improve engine durability and efficiency**
As maritime operators switch to these new oils, it’s recommended that they also take advantage of ExxonMobil’s used oil analysis service. With used oil analysis data, fleets can set an appropriate baseline to evaluate engine performance with the new oils. In addition, the data can help them accurately determine if an optimized oil drain interval program can be started.
