Product Description

Mobilcut™  is the trademark for Mobil Industrial lubricants line of high performance water miscible metal removal fluids. The products are designed to work in a variety of hard and soft water qualities and offer low foam potential and long-term corrosion protection for machine and components.  Low maintenance and inherently stable, Mobilcut products are designed for the modern machine shop where long service life and  excellent machining performance are important factors for increased productivity.  These products are supplied in concentrated form and require mixing with water at the point of use.  Mobilcut 251 is free of formaldehyde release agents (FAD).

 

Mobilcut 251 is boron free high quality semi synthetic water miscible metalworking fluid designed to form a stable emulsion which is suitable for hard and soft water in the range from 50 ppm to 500 ppm. Fluid is designed to minimize skin irritation and provide long operation life at the same time. Mobicut 251 is particularly  developed for machining of alumimium alloys, e.g. 2024, 6061 and 7075 as well as yellow metals.  It has good non-staining property and can be used in machining of aluminum alloys and yellow metals in aerospace and semiconductor applications.

Applications

Mobilcut 251: Semi synthetic cutting fluid is primarily intended for the machining of aluminum and aluminum alloys. It may also be used on a wide variety of ferrous materials where a more versatile fluid is required.  Fluid type is micro emulsion.  Mineral oil content typical is 30%. Optimal water hardness range is 50 pm to 500ppm.

 

 The recommended concentration depends on the application and the materials to be machined:

 

General machining: from 5 % - 7%

Heavy duty machining: from 10 % - 12%

 

Low alloy steels - milling, turning: 5 -10%

Carbon alloy steels, difficult machining: 7-12%

Aluminum, Aluminium machining: 7-12%
