  • Mobil Jet Oil 387 now approved for use in majority of Rolls-Royce large civil aircraft engines
  • Results from extensive ground and flight testing show Mobil Jet Oil 387 delivers exceptional performance and protection

SPRING, Texas – ExxonMobil today announced that Mobil Jet Oil 387 , a synthetic High Performance Capability (HPC)* turbine engine oil, is now approved for use in Rolls-Royce’s popular Trent 700, Trent 800, RB211-524 (B, C, D, G, and H series), and RB211-535 (C and E4 series) engines. These engines power some of the world’s most widely used aircraft, including a number of Boeing and Airbus variants.

Building on previous approvals for the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000, Trent 900 and Trent XWB engines, Mobil Jet Oil 387 is now approved for use in the majority of Rolls-Royce’s large civil aircraft engines.

Mobil Jet Oil 387 is an ideal lubricant for fleets of all sizes. These additional approvals from Rolls-Royce are an important milestone for this innovative product,” said Vipin Rana, global aviation sales manager at ExxonMobil. “ExxonMobil is committed to producing the highest quality jet engine lubricants to meet the current and future needs of the aviation industry.”

Mobil Jet Oil 387 surpassed Rolls-Royce’s lubricant oil requirements in extensive in-flight and ground testing. Results showed that Mobil Jet Oil 387 helps maintain engine efficiency and reliability.

Along with the most recent approvals from Rolls-Royce, Mobil Jet Oil 387 has been approved for use by other engine manufacturers in a wide range of models and components. It also meets a range of demanding industry specifications, including SAE AS5780 High Performance Capability (HPC) and U.S. Military Specification MIL-PRF-23699-HTS.

*About High-Performance Capability (HPC) Oils: The High-Performance Capability (HPC) classification represents the highest aviation industry standard for aviation turbine engine oils. To meet the HPC classification, oils must deliver exceptional overall performance, high levels of oxidation resistance and outstanding deposit control. Mobil Jet Oil 387 is certified as a HPC oil.
