ExxonMobil hosts customer symposium in China discussing the future of the marine industry
In September, ExxonMobil hosted a two-day technical symposium in Lijiang, China, to explore how the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) ambitions to reduce the maritime sector’s GHG emissions could shape the future of vessel operations.
The in-depth sessions were well attended and covered topics related to both marine fuels and lubricants. The event included presentations by experts on ExxonMobil’s 2023 Energy Outlook, Mobilgard™ 540 AC and Mobil Serv℠ Cylinder Condition Monitoring benefits, along with a discussion about ExxonMobil’s assessment of alternative marine fuel formulations. We were also very pleased to have Xinde Marine, the leading marine news group in China, join us and deliver a talk on future marine trends related to digitalisation and green technology.
Other highlights included an insightful session from MAN Energy Solutions, focused on new OEM engine designs and future fuels, such as LNG and biofuels. Additionally, the ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solution China team covered the progress towards an energy transformation, low carbon solutions and expanded on applications for bio-methanol in the marine industry.
